ADVENT/CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE
Sunday, Nov 29th – 3PM Sung Mass First Sunday of Advent
The word Advent is from the Latin adventus for “coming” and is associated with the four weeks of preparation for Christmas. Advent always contains four Sundays and continuing until December 24. It blends together a penitential spirit, very similar to Lent, a liturgical theme of preparation for the Second and final coming of the Lord, called the parousia, and the joyful theme of getting ready for the Bethlehem event
Saint Andrew Christmas Prayer –
Hail and blessed be the hour and the moment in which the
Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold.
In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayers and grant my desires,
through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
